The vertical coal mill is something that everyone is familiar with. The main function of the vertical coal mill is to grind large pieces of coal ore material thoroughly, turning the coal into fine particles for combustion. This helps in the complete combustion of coal and the desulfurization of exhaust gases. Generally, vertical coal mills are widely used in large-scale coal-consuming enterprises such as thermal power plants. Due to differences in coal quality and boilers, there are certain differences in the particle size requirements for coal, which is generally around 200 mesh. A typical vertical coal mill can meet this fineness requirement. Coal is prone to moisture absorption due to long-term storage, and it generally contains more than 15% moisture.

Vertical coal mills are familiar to everyone. The main function of vertical coal mills is to grind large pieces of coal ore material thoroughly, turning the coal into fine particles for combustion. Vertical coal mills can usually meet this fineness requirement. Coal is prone to moisture absorption due to long-term storage, typically containing more than 15% moisture, with lignite even reaching up to 45%. Therefore, grinding equipment must be suitable for high moisture content and ideally should dry the material while grinding. Vertical coal mills do not require separate drying equipment to achieve ultra-fine grinding of ores. Since coal is different from other ores and is inherently combustible, there is a risk of fire in the grinding chamber during the grinding process, so flame retardant and explosion-proof measures must be in place during grinding.
